It’s been less than a week since Luann narrowly avoided going back to jail after she was placed in handcuffs and dragged into court for violating her probation.
However, the Real Housewives of New York star is laughing off her recent brush with the law and is using it as fodder for her cabaret show.
On Thursday, May 30 Luann hit the stage for the first time since her May 23 court hearing in Atlanta, Georgia.
According to an eyewitness, the first thing Luann joked about when hitting the stage was her brush with the law.
The band played “Holiday In Handcuffs” as Luann joked, “I had to slip out of those cuffs – twice!”
“It was definitely a reference to her run-in last week,” the eyewitness told Radar Online. “It was one of the first things she said to the crowd.”
Just last week, Luann found herself in hot water again when she was taken into custody for failing to comply with her probation. The RHONY star recently broke her probation agreement when she tested positive for alcohol and failed to attend AA meetings.
The Countess was released from custody on May 23 and her new reality includes“keeping a breathalyzer in her car, weekly telephone counseling, monthly in-person meetings with a psychiatrist and taking the prescription drug Antabuse.”
Meanwhile, during the Q&A portion of her show, Luann played Fuck, Marry and Kill with her exes “the pirate,” from St. Barts, Jacques Azoulay, and Tom D’Agostino.
“Kill the pirate – he wasn’t interested in me anyway, – f**k Jacques and marry Tom. Oh wait, I already did, but marry Tom. He has the most money!” Luann told the crowd.
In a statement to Radar, Luann explained why she joked about her almost arrest, “When you face adversity you can reflect on it and cry, or you can deal with it through other means, and humor is therapeutic. My fans give me strength and we have fun together, and so I try to keep my head held high and be cheerful as I continue to work hard down my road to recovery.”
The Real Housewives of New York airs on Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST on Bravo.
