Kyle Richards Lisa Vanderpump The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills - RHOBH

A Look Back At the Ups and Downs of Lisa Vanderpump and Kyle Richards’ Friendship

During tonight’s episode of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump‘s friendship will change forever.

The fallout begins when Kyle visits Villa Rosa to discuss the leaked Radar Online story, which details the PuppyGate drama between Dorit Kemsley and her former adopted puppy Lucy.

Kyle informs Vanderpump that the group believes she is behind the leaked story. More importantly, the group also believes that LVP planted the story to hurt Dorit.

During their conversation, Kyle also makes it known that she believes LVP is behind the leak as well.

“There’s always stories, negative stories,” LVP points out, as Kyle tells her that Dorit is “very” upset about the story.

“If you read the article it sounds like it comes from your camp,” Kyle says.

“You always say when you look at the article, you have to see who benefits, right?” Kyle adds. “I’m in a really bad position here…because as your friend I want to say, ‘That is not true! I don’t believe that.’ But I don’t, I don’t feel that Ken!”

With all that said let’s take a stroll down memory lane and look back at the ups and downs of Kyle and Lisa’s friendship.

When Real Housewives of Beverly Hills made it’s debut in October 2010 fans quickly fell in love with Kyle and Lisa’s friendship.

It wasn’t until the season 2 reunion that Kyle and Lisa got into their first big fight. It started when Kyle called the restauranter “calculated.”

“Being in a friendship with you is like playing chess with Bobby Fischer,” Kyle said after Adrienne Maloof accused Lisa of selling stories about the cast to the tabloids.

When season 3 started Kyle and Lisa’s friendship was on shaky ground. The two attempted to move past Kyle’s Bobby Fischer comparison but Lisa couldn’t get pas tit and instead shifted her loyalty and focus to newbie Brandi Glanville.

Kyle and Lisa often fought over the Vanderpump Rules star’s alliance with Brandi, who was often caught up in dramatic fights with other Housewives. It often seemed like Brandi was doing someone else’s dirty work, a claim she later confirmed.

During season 4, Kyle and Lisa’s friendship hit a major rough patch. It started when Brandi alleged that Lisa wanted her to bring tabloid magazines, featuring stories that Kyle’s husband, Mauricio Umansky, was unfaithful, on the cast trip to Puerto Rico. Lisa denied Brandi’s allegations but Kyle didn’t know who to believe and was determined to get to the bottom of it. Vanderpump was so upset she left the trip early.  Kyle was even more upset that Mauricio’s alleged affair was brought up on camera. To make matters worse this wasn’t the first time Lisa had brought up the claims on camera that season.

Lisa was initially on the outs with her co-stars when season 5 started but she and Kyle quickly made up. The two reconciled and pledged to not gossip about each other.

During season 6, Kyle and Lisa found themselves in the middle of a conversation with Lisa Rinna about Yolanda Hadid’s Lyme disease. During the meeting, Rinna brought up rumors that the model was faking her illness and had Munchausen syndrome.

As the season evolved, Kyle was forced to reassess her friendship with Vanderpump after Rinna and Eileen Davidson insisted that Vanderpump wanted Kyle to be dragged into the drama. Kyle tried her hardest to remain loyal to Vanderpump and refused to throw her friend under the bus.

At the season 6 reunion, Kyle revealed that she was “annoyed” that her “name got brought up,” in connection to the Munchausen drama. Despite the drama, Kyle and Vanderpump were able to move past any issues.

Season 7 was a breeze for Kyle and Lisa. They stayed out of the drama and remained loyal to each other.

After an easy breezy season 7, Kyle and Lisa hit more than a few bumps in the road during season 8. Most of the drama in their friendship involved Dorit Kemsley, who joined the cast during season 7. Lisa accused Kyle and Dorit of not paying attention to her. The three ultimately decided they could all be friends.

However, the drama didn’t stop there. Kyle then accused Lisa of holding Dorit to a different standard.  Kyle insists, that over the years, she was punished by Lisa for calling her out. But, according to Kyle, LVP doesn’t seem to do the same to Dorit.

In late 2018, while filming season 9, Lisa found herself on the outs with her co-stars including Kyle. The cast was divided over Lisa’s alleged involvement in PuppyGate.

Prior to season 9 starting, Kyle revealed to Us Weekly that she hoped they could repair their friendship.

“I love her, I really do. She’s a good friend of mine for many years and I love doing the show with her and I hope so. We have fun together, laugh together, so we shall see,” Kyle said in November 2018. “There has not been any event that she’s not been invited to. So if she’s not there, it’s because it’s her choice. So, I mean, I love Lisa and I have to respect that it’s her choice.

Lisa and Kyle have not spoken since their heated argument over PuppyGate, which airs tonight on Bravo.

As for now the future of their friendship remains unclear.

The two might be able to clear things up at the season 9 reunion IF Lisa chooses to attend. As of March 2019, LVP was unsure if she would attend or not.

“I don’t know yet because that’s so far away,” Lisa told Us of the reunion taping. “I don’t know how the audience would react, so I really don’t know. It’s so far in advance.”
