Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy’s ongoing custody battle over their 8-year-old daughter, Bryn, continued in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday when the SkinnyGirl mogul took the stand to detail Jason’s alleged verbally abusive behavior in a May 9, 2015, FaceTime call.
According to Page Six, the Real Housewives of New York star cried on the stand as she revealed how her ex-husband “used FaceTime to taunt me” twice a day, every day in 2015.
“The circumstances were I was trying to FaceTime Bryn … and I have experienced basically every day Jason using it as a tool to harass me or abuse me or taunt me and on that day, I recorded our correspondence,” Frankel said.
Bethenny explained that it was Mother’s Day and Bryn’s birthday weekend. When Bethenny called Jason and asked him to speak with Bryn he replied, “Keep recording me, you’ve lost your privilege for recording me.”
The SkinnyGirl mogul says she has to ride out Jason’s calls “twice a day, every day … every time before the order of protection.”
“Jason used FaceTime to taunt me, abuse me, say negative things, laugh at me,” Bethenny confessed, choking back tears. “‘Is everything OK, Bethenny? Are you having a bad day, Bethenny? You seemed stressed, Bethenny.’”
While on the stand, Bethenny also admitted to calling her ex-husband “white trash” and dousing him with water while he was sleeping.
Bethenny also owned up to the role she played in the former couple’s extremely hostile relationship.
“You called him white trash, correct?” Jason’s lawyer Robert Wallack probed on Monday.
“I think I called his family that,” she replied.
Wallack then forced Bethenny to read a transcript from a 2014 hearing where Bethenny testified that she called Jason “white trash” after he insisted he found an “investor” to bankroll him in their divorce proceedings.
“You called him white trash?” Wallack repeated.
“Yes,” Bethenny finally admitted.
In 2014, Bethenny revealed she tossed water on a sleeping Jason after she “cracked.”
However, in court on Monday, Bethenny attempted to minimize her actions.
“Well, I threw water at him, but I don’t know if he was sleeping,” she said.
Bethenny and Jason currently share joint custody of their daughter Bryn but the RHONY star is fighting for more time with her daughter and sole decision making power over her daughter’s life.
“I have tried everything to collaborate and work in the best interest of my daughter. What is best for Bryn is to have a rational person who is making good decisions,” Bethenny said in court earlier in the day on Monday.
