When it comes to the Real Housewives part of the allure is the drama and the other part is pure fantasy. We love to see the over the top fashion, cars, and of course, the looks. Considering hair, makeup and glam squads are a huge part of this show, we look forward to see what creative looks the ‘wives rock season after season. In honor of this, AllAboutTRH thought it would be fun to run a poll on who has the best locks with four different categories: Most Iconic, Long and Luscious, Best Volume and Best Color. Because we can’t talk about amazing hair without mentioning former RHOBH Joyce Giraud, we exclusively spoke to her about her hair line and her infamous locks. Check out our interview below then vote for your favorites!
First off, we miss seeing you and your amazing hair on RHOBH! What are some of your top secrets for getting your luscious look?
Joyce: The mix of natural ingredients my grandma made me since I was a little girl which is still the base in my entire line. I used to call it my secret potion. We would blend all the ingredients and I would give it to my friends. It was the perfect mask, straight from mother nature. Using a good hair mask can change your hair game.
We have to ask – is your hair actually real or do you wear extensions?
Yes, it’s 100% mine. It’s so crazy that people don’t believe me and sometimes I’ll be at the grocery store or a restaurant and people come up to ask if they can touch it because they think I have extensions. I always let them go right ahead and touch it lol. In all my Evine live shows they lift up my hair to show everyone that it’s real!
What inspired you to create your own hair care line?
My hairline is inspired by my lindo Puerto Rico. I didn’t grow up wealthy but we were extremely wealthy in two things: love and nature. My grandma would pluck all these ingredients from the mountains where we lived and would blend them together in a “pilon” that we would put on our hair and face. Those were our spa days. Two of the ingredients she always used were Buriti and Maracuya.
Through my modeling days, I fell in love with Argan because all the makeup artists were raving about it. Then during a trip to Asia with my husband, I discovered Moringa which is the richest superfood. I always had to blend them myself because there wasn’t anything out there that had the combination of the greatest oils from around the world. Finally, I said, why compromise? I wanted to make the very best. I wanted products that are free of any harsh chemicals, products that nourish and protect your hair. My products really are like a superfood for your hair.
Where can we get your products to get that ‘Joyce Giraud’ look?
We sell it on Evine, Amazon and on joycegiraud.com My line has really been a dream come true and in just two years it’s become the #1 hair care line in the shopping network.
Any last minute tips or advice for a full, healthy head of hair?
I recommend everyone take the supplements because everything starts from within. I love to shampoo, then mask and after I towel dry I put on my serum, then put my hair in a bun and let it dry naturally. When I let it down I use my styling tool to do the ends because I like to curl them a bit. In my purse and car, you will find my Pure 4, my dry oil because I like to reapply during the day for shine and my voluminous mist because when I want big hair I just spray on a bit and get that big bounce.
Whether short or long, I love styling and helping all my gals out. As you guys know a little while ago, that got me in trouble with one of my now dearest friends and “hairgate” happened LOL. I confess I still style everyone because I am a girls girl and love my girls to look GREAT!
Special thanks to the beautiful Joyce Giraud for catching up with us at AllAboutTRH! You have an open invitation to come and help style us any day 🙂 To learn more about Joyce’s hair care line and shop her products, click here.
