Vicki Gunvalson isn’t feeling the love from fans.
This comes after the OG of the OC attempted to cash in on the death of actor Luke Perry.
Following Perry’s sudden death, the Real Housewives of Orange County star took it upon herself to remind everyone about the importance of life insurance.
While doing this Vicki didn’t miss the opportunity to promote her business: Coto Insurance and Financial Services.
“I know most of you have heard about the unfortunate passing of Luke Perry at the young age of 52,” Vicki wrote on Facebook while sharing a Forbes article about the actor’s death.“Luke was responsible in his estate planning and because of that, he relieved his family of a lot of the burdens that would happen if he didn’t have it in place the way he did. It makes you realize how important Planning is and how NOT to procrastinate taking care of a trust, health directives and securing life insurance for those you leave behind. So sad.”
However, the post didn’t go over well with fans who quickly accused the reality TV star of trying to cash in on Perry’s death.
“Really? Capitalizing off of another person’s death to get business…SO UNBELIEVABLY TACKY,” one follower wrote.
Another user echoed similar sentiments.
“I was a fan, but not anymore. TACKY of you to advertise your insurance company with the unfortunate passing of a celebrity. We all know, or should know, to plan for our futures. Shame on you!”
Vicki was further vilified by other comments on the post.
“This is literally disgusting…take this post down. It was already said that he wrote a will and left everything to his children. Stop being ridiculous.”
“Really? Using the death of a star to promote your insurance business? Super poor taste,” and “Wow lady you should be ashamed of yourself, really how disrespectful are you.”
Now, Vicki is feeling attacked by all the cruel comments.
“Vicki feels upset that fans are giving her so much backlash over her recent Facebook post about Luke Perry. Frankly, she feels attacked for no reason and that her words were completely taken out of context, but Vicki is also aware that it’s really hard to do anything on social media without getting attacked these days. She didn’t find anything wrong with it because she is a pro in the industry and was trying to just say that Luke was smart in his decision making. She never meant to offend or hurt anyone,” a source close to the OG of the OC tells Hollywood Life.
It should be noted that Vicki did delete the Facebook post after receiving so much hate for it.
Yikes. Vicki’s post was out of line, IMO.
