Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy are both blaming each other for their daughter Bryn being snubbed by the elite Manhattan Friends Seminary Day School.
The Real Housewives of New York star claimed in a 2015 email to Jason that they were rejected by the private school because “of your cousin being incarcerated as a pedophile, your uncle’s overdose or your cousin’s identity theft.”
These dirty details were recently revealed as the exes battle it out in court for custody of their 8-year-old daughter.
However, Page Six reports that Frankel’s obsession with media attention was really to blame for the snub. Turns out parents, who did the carpool line with Frankel, at her daughter’s preschool couldn’t stand the constant swarm of paparazzi.
Apparently, many parents inquired about the school’s “policy on paparazzi is” in hopes of keeping media obsessed parents at bay and creating a peaceful environment for their children.
Some believe that Bethenny was tipping off the paparazzi when she would go pick up Bryn from school.
“Parents don’t want their kids to have to fight their way through [crowds of] paparazzi at pickup,” said an insider.
“There are plenty of much more famous people in New York — like Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones — who collect their kids without an army of paps. But, Bethenny just can’t do the school run without being photographed.”
The source thinks Bethenny was working with the paps to boost her public image and look like the perfect, doting mother. For example, on one Halloween, the paps claimed they were tipped off that the SkinnyGirl mogul would show up to the school pick up in a costume which she did.
Bethenny’s rep, on the other hand, denies the claims made by this unnamed source.
“Bethenny never tipped the paparazzi to come to her daughter’s school. The paparazzi were usually camped out in that neighborhood as it is a … scene for celebs. Bethenny regularly does pickup and drop-off. As for the Halloween costume, she was rushing from work to pick up her daughter,” explains Bethenny’s rep.
Meanwhile, over the weekend Bethenny revealed that she bought a townhouse in Boston. Bethenny’s new beau Paul Bernon lives in Boston. Bethenney and Paul’s relationship first came to light in October 2018 when they were spotted locking lips on the streets of Boston.
