In a raw and emotional video, Lala opens up about how admitting she was an alcoholic has helped her grieve over the death of her father and has shown her the light at the end of the tunnel.
In the video, Lala admits:
“Five months ago, I came to the realization that I am an alcoholic, and I am now a friend of Bill W.” Bill W. is a reference to the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, Bill Wilson.
“You will never know how much this program means to me,” she added. “[It] has given me new life.”
As for how it has helped her over the death of her father, Lala states:
“I’m so grateful that I have this program and that I can mourn him. The program has allowed me to sit down and remember my dad in a clear frame of mind, and remember what he brought to my life, what he meant to me, what he taught me.”
Page Six captured the the video which you can watch below:
I admire Lala for being so open and honest with herself. It’s clear that her father was a huge part of her life and his death has brought on a need for clarity which sobriety seems to have brought her. I also love that she is not judging anyone else for drinking and seems to be doing this for herself. I haven’t been the biggest Lala fan in the past but this video has shown a completely new side to her that I admire.
Our thoughts are with you Lala – sending you love and support!
