Joe Giudice’s release from prison didn’t go as he imagined it would. Instead of walking out of prison a free man and going home he went straight into ICE custody.
As reported earlier today, Joe was handed over to ICE following his release from prison on March 14, 2019. Joe is currently awaiting a decision on his appeal that would ultimately dictate if he stays in the United States or is deported to Italy.
For now, Joe’s case is in limbo, which means he will remain in ICE custody until his appeal is reviewed. Joe’s appeal could take up to a year to be reviewed and unless a court releases Joe he will remain in custody until a decision is made.
As Joe was being released from prison his daughters Gia and Milania Giudice took to social media and posted messages of support for their father.
Not surprisingly, the teenagers vow to continue fighting for their dad until the end.
“Sending you my love and strength today and always love you,” Gia wrote alongside a photo of her and her dad.
Milania, on the other hand, shared several photos of her dad on her Instagram stories.
“I love you so much buddy see u soon,” Milania wrote on one photo. Adding, “Fighting for you daddy love u endlessly buddy,” she wrote on another.
Their mother Teresa Giudice has yet to post anything about Joe on social media but she did ask for prayers in a post on her Instagram stories the day prior.
Last month Teresa revealed that she and Joe would go their separate ways if was deported. The RHONJ star also said she would not move her kids to Italy.
“I mean, unless my kids say, ‘Mommy, I want to move to Italy. Gia’s going to college next year; I haven’t spoken to Milania or Audriana about it, we haven’t gotten there yet; Gabriella already voiced her opinion to me. She was like, ‘That would be so hard for me, Mommy.’ She doesn’t speak the language. She’s like, ‘That would kill me even more.’”
Adding that her four daughters have “been through so much already.”
“I’m not doing a long-distance relationship. I’m not doing it. You know, I want somebody with me every day. I know exactly what happens. You know, I’m sure he’ll be with other women. It happens. We do the long-distance thing, it’s not going to work. I’d be like, ‘Bye, bye,’” Teresa revealed at the RHONJ season 9 reunion.
Since announcing her plans Teresa has received criticism from her current and past RHONJ co-stars. Teresa’s season 9 co-star Jackie Goldschneider told Too Fab that she doesn’t “feel bad for Teresa” at all although she does have sympathy for Joe and their children.
Meanwhile, former RHONJ star Jacqueline Laurita called Teresa’s decisions “selfish.”
“I don’t understand Teresa’s decision to not stand by her man and keep her family intact,” Laurita tells Us Weekly. “If Joe is truly the love of her life and the father of her kids, you’d think she would go wherever he goes to keep the family together as a unit! I feel like they’ve been separated long enough! Her decision seems a little selfish to me.”
The RHONJ star has yet to respond to any criticism about her choices. Season 10 of RHONJ is set to begin filming any day soon so it’s safe to say this topic will be broached on camera.
I really wish Joe could at least be home with his kids while he awaits his appeal. He could easily be put on house arrest.
