Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy’s marriage may be long over but their battle over their daughter, Bryn Hoppy, continues.
The Real Housewives of New York star and her ex-husband are heading to court on Monday to begin a custody trial over their 8-year-old daughter.
Bethenny is “seeking primary custody and full decision-making power over Bryn.” As for Jason, he wants to keep their current joint custody arrangement in place.
Bethenny was set to appear on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen this Wednesday following the season 11 premiere but the SkinnyGirl founder has since backed out due to the trial.
“RHONY is kicking off its new season on Wednesday, but Bethenny won’t be doing any press or interviews this week to promote the show,” a source tells PEOPLE. “She’s really excited for the new season, but her focus this week is her daughter.”
“With respect to Dennis, the judge said [Hoppy and his team] were trying to use his death to their advantage,” a source told PEOPLE. “The clear implication being that it was inappropriate that they were trying to use that tragedy.”
Bethenny and Jason have been fighting over their daughter for years. The two had a whirlwind romance that resulted in an unexpected pregnancy followed by a walk down the aisle in 2010. However, after the birth of their daughter and their own spinoff show on Bravo things got ugly between the couple. They split for good in December 2012 but their divorce wasn’t finalized until 2016. Over the years the two have been in and out of court, and in 2017 Bethenny accused Jason of stalking and harassment.
And from the looks of it, their infamous courtroom showdowns are heating up once again. Buckle up because things could get ugly between the former couple.
It should be noted in August 2018, a forensic expert said that Bethenny and Jason should share custody of Bryn.
AllAboutTRH will continue to provide updates as Bethenny and Jason’s custody trial progresses.
