Andy Cohen is the head honcho of Bravo and he has created the popular Real Housewives franchise. Andy has been in charge of a lot of decisions when it comes to the Real Housewives, since the very first seasons. However; he recently revealed that he doesn’t always have the right idea initially and that he sometimes makes mistakes too. It turns out that Andy now feels he made a mistake when he almost didn’t want Bethenny Frankel to be on The Real Housewives of New York. Bethenny is an OG and ended up making the cut and was cast. She’s even had her own Bravo spinoff show before returning back to the RHONY. Andy has recently been opening up about how Bethenny almost wasn’t on the show!
Andy recently discussed this all on an episode of Watch What Happens Live. Andy was talking with guest Lisa Rinna, about how she had auditioned for the first season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills but he wanted people who were unknown at the time. He noted that it was perfect timing when Lisa R did come on the RHOBH. Andy then revealed that he almost didn’t want Bethenny on the RHONY. Andy said, “When we were looking at casting for season one of New York housewives, Bethenny was on the casting. And I was like, ‘She was just on the Martha Stewart Apprentice.’ And I thought I don’t get it, she just was on a reality show. People are going to think she’s just going from reality show to reality show. I don’t get this.” He added, “So I was not in favor of Bethenny coming on. So I’ve made some mistakes in my life.”
I can’t picture the RHONY without Bethenny. It’s like Lisa R and Andy said, everything happens for a reason!
