Carole Radziwill is taking some time to herself to mourn the loss of her beloved mother in law, Lee Radziwill.
Lee (who was the younger sister of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis) passed away at her home in NYC at the age of 85. Carole, who was close with her mother in law, shared a tribute to former fashion icon and socialite via Instagram:
“She was loved. Rest in Peace, Lee. Thank you for the kind words & comments.”
Carole was married to Lee’s son Anthony Radziwill from 1994 -1999. Tragically, Carole experienced a series of losses as Anthony died from cancer in 1999 just weeks after his cousin, John F. Kennedy Jr. and his wife died in a plane crash. Carole ended up writing a best selling book about her loss titled What Remains.
It has been reported that Lee Radziwill died of natural causes. Lee was a well known NYC socialite, who worked in interior design and was a style icon, along with her famous sister Jackie Kennedy. Lee married the Polish Prince Stanislaw Albrecht Radziwill, with whom she had two children: Anna Christina and Anthony. When Carole married Anthony, she technically became a Princess (something that was discussed on RHONY.)
Lee was an amazing woman and our thoughts go out to Carole at this difficult time.
