David Foster and Katharine McPhee are heading down the aisle and it looks like they are sparing no expense.
Both David and Katharine have walked down the aisle before but they are acting like it’s their first wedding.
Sources tell OK! Magazine that David and Katharine’s wedding could cost them nearly $50 million!
“The guest list is already past the 500 mark because they have a ton of Hollywood connections,” says the source. “If David’s birthday parties are any indication, plenty of A-listers will be invited, from Kate Hudson to John Mayer.”
The musical couple is likely to rent a Malibu mansion for their wedding. According to sources, David is “keen” on have Chef Wolfgang Puck create the menu, who also catered his 2011 wedding to former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Hadid.
As for Katharine’s wedding gown, sources say money is no object.
“She’s thinking of tapping [haute couture designer] Georges Chakra to create a custom piece,” spills the source. “It’s going to be so different from her last wedding dress, and she’s having David’s daughters [Sara and Erin Foster] look at options with her.”
However, the highlight of their big day will be the couple’s planned duet, which is a repeat of Katharine’s 2008 wedding to ex-husband Nick Cokas.
At Katharine’s first wedding she performed a rendition of Natalie Cole’s “Unforgettable” as David played the piano. Only this time around David will be the groom and not just a pal.
“It’ll be a special moment and a chance for them to reflect on everything that brought them together over the years,” says the source. “It’s definitely going to be a night to remember!”
David and Katharine’s romance may seem odd to many, but according to David, their relationship was inevitable.
The two met on American Idol in 2006 and since then they’ve remained close.
“The reality is that in the last 12 years, I’ve always had a connection with her,” David confessed in 2018.
$50M for a wedding? That’s nuts and excessive especially considering their marital track record.
