The Real Housewives of New York’s Sonja Morgan made her improv comedy debut! She took the stage at Improv Asylum’s grand opening in the Big Apple on Friday night. Sonja also had the support of fellow RHONY stars, Ramona Singer and Tinsley Mortimer.
She wasn’t sure if she was going to be making jokes about her castmates. Sonja had recently told Page Six that Luann de Lesseps, “has been doing her cabaret show, and she made some jokes about some of the ‘Housewives,’ and they didn’t take too kindly to it.”
Sonja hosted and performed at Chelsea Club Improv Asylum in New York on Friday night. She had said she was a little frustrated she wasn’t able to go off-script in her off-Broadway play ‘Sex Tips for Straight Women From a Gay Man.’ Sonja also said she had been encouraged to try out comedy by Bravo executive, Andy Cohen!
She shared that Andy, “always said to me that I’m one of his top favorite guests on Watch What Happens Live, and he’s said that I’m very funny, so I want to see how it is.”
This may be something continues to do in the future! She explained, “This might be something for me, if the audience enjoys it and there’s a good back-and-forth and we’re laughing.”
Congrats, Sonja! I would go see her improv comedy show. It’s nice that Ramona and Tinsley went and showed their support!
