This season was Emily Simpson’s first season on The Real Housewives of Orange County, and it’s been an emotional one! Emily and her husband, Shane Simpson, shared the loss of their twin babies on the show. There was a very emotional scene on RHOC where Emily read condolence letters from loved ones from a box. Emily is a proud mother and wife, and she wants to have more children. Recently on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, Emily opened up about her sad loss.
Emily said that Shane saved the box for her and knew right where it was. She said that he put all of the letters in there for her. Emily explained that her husband grieved when it happened, when she felt like she couldn’t handle it at the time. However; she said that her husband knew there would come a day that she would open the box. Emily said, “I feel badly that people give him a hard time, because there’s more to the story.” Emily also joked that everyone is always giving Shane a hard time.
Emily said that she still hasn’t decided what to do with her embryos yet. She is paying the storage fee for them right now, and isn’t destroying them. “I emotionally cannot do that,” she explained.
I really feel for Emily, this situation is so sad. Everyone grieves differently and I think her and her husband are just trying to deal with it the best they can. I don’t blame her for not destroying her embryos, I wouldn’t either. Healing takes time. Sending them lots of love!
