Whether you love her or hate her (or love to hate her) fans and ‘wives alike where thrilled to hear that the RHOA star was going to be a new mom. Kenya has been longing to be a mother for years and her dream of motherhood has finally come true!
The Atlanta beauty gave birth to baby girl Brooklyn Doris Daly at 9:39 a.m. EST on Sunday, Nov. 4. According to PEOPLE the little bundle of joy weighs 5 lbs. 12 oz. with both mom and baby doing well.
The name holds special meaning to the couple as, “Brooklyn because that’s where we met and fell in love, and Doris after my grandmother who passed away last year and who raised me” Moore tells PEOPLE.
Everyone is relieved that baby Brooklyn arrived safely as Kenya had a pregnancy scare. Kenya, “gave birth via emergency cesarean section after revealing on Oct. 27 that she had tested positive for preeclampsia — a pregnancy complication that caused her to gain 17 lbs. in ONE week due to severe swelling and water retention, high blood pressure, and excess protein in urine.”
At the time, Kenya urged pregnant women to trust their gut and say something if something does not feel right stating:
“To my pregnant sisters please go to your visits and tell the doctor of any drastic changes. Thank God I have great doctors.”
Kenya has made it known for quite some time that she longed to be a mother, telling PEOPLE at the time of her initial pregnancy announcement:
“I’ve waited 47 years for this moment I didn’t really want to announce it too soon because I feel it’s very early on in our pregnancy. But I have suffered so much in my life when it comes to wanting a family around me. So this is the day I’ve been waiting for my entire life. It’s a dream come true.”
Congrats to Kenya on her new baby girl! I love to see good things happen to those that have had to wait and wish nothing but the best for her new family.
