Perhaps Jeff Lewis never heard the old saying ‘don’t bite the hand that feeds you.’
Jeff Lewis, star of Bravo’s Flipping Out, has been in hot water lately as he had a falling out with costar Jenny Pulos along with having some pretty damaging allegations made against him. Now, Jeff is adding another enemy to his list, only this time it’s his the face of Bravo himself: Andy Cohen.
Apparently, Jeff thought it would be funny to add a doctored photo to his Instagram page, poking fun at the fact that Bravo hasn’t renewed his contract after allegations were made. The photo (which he admitted was edited) shows words added to a Bravo promo posted such as ’15 minutes up’ and ‘Contract Expired’:
Apparently Andy (and Bravo) weren’t laughing and Andy sent Jeff some texts to let him know that nobody at the network was impressed. Jeff could have left it there; however he decided to really piss of Andy by then reading their phone conversation out on the air (on the Radio Andy channel no less.) Jeff revealed:
“I normally would never read his texts on air, but the reason I would read this is that he has changed his strategy with me. Yesterday, I think when it happened, he thought, ‘I’m not getting through to him by screaming at him. I’m not getting through to him by writing nasty, threatening texts. I’m going to try a different strategy.'”
That’s when Jeff revealed that Andy had texted him, asking what he hoped to gain from the post: “It’s a joke” Jeff replied. “Didn’t mean anything by it.”
“Would it be funny to Bravo?” Andy asked Jeff, to which he responded, “I hope so.” Andy insisted the network wouldn’t find it funny, stating:
“Looks to me like you’re vilifying the network. They usually pick up shows after they finish their season, but maybe you want to let competitors know you are open for business, which you are definitely doing.”
Jeff then joked he’d “be at WE in no time,” to which Andy replied: “You’re just pi**ing everyone there off again and making them think Bravo is cancelling the show, which doesn’t make them look good. If you’re doing it to work somewhere else, I get it.”
As this was all happening live, Andy kept the texts coming sternly telling Jeff: “You’re an a**hole. Don’t ever read my texts on air again. You’re an a**hole.”
The feud has not stopped there, as Andy is now speaking out, revealing he would be hesitant to pick up Flipping Out if the choice was his stating:
“If I were in charge of programming at Bravo at this point, would I pick it up? I don’t know.”
“It’s kind of like that Chelsea Handler thing. Remember when Chelsea Handler was just trashing E! everywhere when she was trying to make a deal with Netflix? Why is E! going to want to make a deal with her when she is trashing the network constantly.”
Wise words Andy! I’m thinking that Jeff already has some offers on the table which is why he doesn’t care who he pisses off.
Thoughts on Jeff reading Andy’s texts on air?
