Call her boss lady or call her stubborn, but Bethenny Frankel refuses to change the name of her Skinnygirl empire!
After many retailers were hesitant to carry her Skinnygirl jeans due to the fear they would offend customers (not to mention where we are in society) many thought Bethenny may alter the name, especially when it came to a clothing line. We covered the controversy of the jeans line here at AllAboutTRH (for original story click here); however the B recently revealed that she will never alter the Skinnygirl name.
In a recent interview with the podcast Unstyled, she was asked if she thought about changing the name due to some backlash and her response was classic, unapologetic Bethenny:
“No, not even close,” said Frankel. “I love the name.”
Bethenny did admit that some retailers were cautious about carrying the line due to the brand name; however she claims that her plus sized fans are the ones that love it the most:
“It’s for all shapes, all sizes, and there are no plus sizes, everybody’s together. But girls who are larger women want it more. They love it. They get that it’s a spirit. That it’s a lifestyle. That it’s not taking yourself too seriously.”
“There’s something very big in the works that you don’t know about. It will be more disruptive than anything that I’ve done before including cocktails.”
When it comes to the B, she loves to promote 24/7 so I’m curious as to what will be so ‘disruptive’ that she isn’t already naming/promoting it. She’s a very ‘go big or go home’ type person so I am curious to see what’s next for her brand.
