Heidi Klum may be walking away from the Project Runway catwalk after 16 years but she has the perfect replacement in mind.
The model turned reality TV host opened up to Us Weekly about who she thinks should replace her on Project Runway when it returns to Bravo in 2019.
“I know that Gigi’s name has come up. I think she would be amazing. She has had so much success in this industry,” Heidi revealed to Us. “I think she would be a great fit.”
Gigi Hadid is already familiar with reality TV after getting her start on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
But she also happens to currently be the biggest supermodel in the world.
With 43 million Instagram followers, Gigi would be the perfect choice to bring in a new fan base to the Project Runway world.
Not to mention anything and everything Gigi does turns to gold.
Plus, Gigi was basically bred to be a supermodel and host a show like Project Runway. Not only is Gigi’s mom, Yolanda Hadid, a former model, her sister Bella Hadid is also one of the world’s biggest models.
Meanwhile, think of all the famous friends Gigi could bring on to guest-star. I’m sure Yolanda would kill to be a guest judge on Project Runway or perhaps she could take over Tim Gunn’s job as the designer’s mentor. Now that’s an idea!
No word on if Gigi is interested in taking the reigns on Project Runway but I think many would like to see Heidi pass the torch to a model as successful, artistically and commercially, as Gigi.
