The cast of Southern Charm is preparing for Hurricane Florence to hit the Carolinas. The wind speeds have dropped down to make it a Category 2 storm, however; weather forecasters and meteorologists have warned that it is going to cause a lot of damage. According to The New York Times, the hurricane can potentially “deliver catastrophic damage.” Southern Charmers: Austen Kroll, Shep Rose, and Kathryn C. Dennis have taken to social media to let everyone know that they have safely evacuated Charleston. According to The Daily Dish, the Southern Charmers and “More than one million residents in the Carolinas and Virginia were ordered to evacuate in anticipation of the storm.”
Austen evacuated deeper into North Carolina where his family has a home inland in Charlotte. Austen said in a statement, “I hope everyone and their loved ones keep an eye on the storm’s activities and stay safe. South Carolina, and Charleston specifically, is no stranger to hurricane season. I’m hoping that the damage they are predicting from Hurricane Florence’s landfall is not as devastating as expected.”
Kathryn Dennis is safe and sound in Nashville! She took to social media to send her thoughts and prayers for the East Coast. She wrote, “I am in LOVE with Nashville. Thank y’all much for the hospitality during this terrible hurricane & evacuation. My prayers and thoughts and love to the East Coast.”
The Grand Dame, Patricia Altschul, is still at home. She’s been stocking up on gin and sausage. (You definitely need gin!) She also has been following proper precautions. Patricia’s home now has the shutters wired shut, the pool is drained, and she’s taking her animals to a safer location.

Yikes! Hurricanes are so devastating, tragic and sad. I hope the storm passes and doesn’t hit. If it does, I hope it’s not as bad as the predictions. I’m glad the Southern Charmers are all taking care of themselves and are focusing on their safety. Sending prayers and thoughts to everyone on the East Coast! Stay strong!
