The Queen B of The Real Housewives of New York, Bethenny Frankel, has revealed that her on and off boyfriend, Dennis Shields, was at the RHONY reunion with her before his sudden death last month. Bethenny also revealed during the reunion that Dennis had helped out fellow cast-mate and friend, Luann de Lesseps. Bethenny said on social media to a follower, “Thank you. It puts a lot in perspective. He was with me at the reunion & the years prior. He was a genius who could talk about the show minutiae all day. He was my greatest supporter.” The Skinny Girl mogul added the hashtags “#sweetassugar” and “#toughasnails” to her response. The pair was seen on the recent season of RHONY.
Bethenny opened up about how she’s dealing with his passing, stating, “It’s hard to breathe & I appreciate you giving me the space & support to try to do so. It’s excruciating-sudden death is no closure & constant ?s & memories. Our relationship is current so it’s painfully raw. Trying to stay healthy & move through it w tears & close friends. Xo.”
The pair first met in 1988 when he dated and eventually married B’s high school friend, Jill. However; they reconnected in 2016 after he separated from his wife. Bethenny had a special bond with him and they were the best of friends. I think it’s great that he got to be present at the reunion to support Bethenny. The passing of a loved one is never easy, and I feel for Bethenny. She can grieve however she wants, she has to do what is best for her during this time of mourning. The truth is, everyone handles death differently and everybody is entitled to their own way of coping. It’s nice she is finding comfort from her followers on social media.
