RHOD: Stephanie Hollman Shares Uplifting Advice For Struggling With Depression

The Real Housewives of Dallas are back and already taking this season to a whole new level. Stephanie Hollman recently opened up about very personal subjects, on a recent episode of the RHOD. Stephanie shared that she had sadly attempted suicide at the young age of 22. Steph was at a dinner party with LeeAnne Locken, who has also suffered from depression. Steph said she “wanted to feel seen.” In her confessional she explained that she was with a guy for awhile and when they broke up, she felt “very alone.” It was brave for Stephanie to open up about this on the show. The Bravo beauty revealed to People Now that airing that on TV, “It was the scariest thing I’ve ever shared.”

Stephanie revealed in her confessional, “I was with a guy for a while; we broke up. I felt very alone. I felt like I didn’t have a lot of friends, because I lost a lot of my friends during my breakup. And I just wanted a way out.” Speaking out about that on the show has been therapeutic for her. Stephanie explained sharing it was initially scary, and “was also the most amazing thing because I never dealt with that time. I was so shameful and I never talked about it. That week I never cried so much when it came out. But I also never healed so much in my life. I really came to terms with what happened at that time in my life, and I kind of mourned what I went through when I was 22.”

Stephanie was also deeply touched when fans reached out to her to share what her admission meant to them. Apparently one person even said that they had written their suicide note and they decided not to do it after this. That was very powerful for Stephanie to hear. All of her RHOD co-stars reached out after seeing her confession with words of support. Stephanie also has some uplifting advice to anyone struggling with depression. She said, “Whenever you’re in it, you just see what’s happening right now, but you don’t see weeks ahead or years ahead. I feel like if you hold on sometimes, the biggest struggles in your life, on the other side, are the greatest blessings.”

I love Stephanie! I think she is so sweet, genuine and down-to-earth. That was very brave of her to share on the show. I’m glad that she’s in a good place now. She is happily married and a proud mommy of beautiful boys. Stephanie seems like someone who truly cares about people. She worked as a social worker prior to joining the RHOD. It’s touching that she’s helped so many people, especially by sharing this. It’s just like she said, on the other side are the greatest blessings!
