This season on The Real Housewives of New York, co-stars, Carole Radziwill and Tinsley Mortimer, became good friends. However; during the reunion Carole dismissed Bethenny Frankel’s claims that Carole and Tinsley were BFFs. Carole said at the reunion, “Bethenny made it seem like we were BFFs, thick as thieves, but we weren’t. We never were. We were friends.” That hurt Tinsley’s feelings, since she thinks of them as being very close. She did agree that they “weren’t thick as thieves.” Carole and Tinsley had been traveling together a lot, as well as taking trips with their boyfriends. Bethenny said that indicated they were close. A lot of people felt that Carole was downplaying her friendship with Tinsley, in order to not give Bethenny validation that she was besties with Tinsley. The fallout between Carole and Bethenny was happening as Carole and Tinsley were growing closer. Some feel the dissolution of Carole and Bethenny’s friendship started when Carole and Tinsley got tight!
Carole said at the reunion, “You know what I care about? I care about the truth. That’s all. The truth was you used this opportunity to say, ‘Carole is the kind of person who has to be a BFF 24/7, and she’s just not that into me. And Tinsley and her are thick as thieves.’ And that original lie launched this entire story.” Carole has since clarified on Twitter, just where her friendship stands with Tins. Carole tweeted, “Tinsley is a great girl and as I said I like her very much but I haven’t seen her outside filming the reunion since May. I do not think she thinks of me as her bestie or inner circle of friends. Period. #truth.”
I do think that Carole and Tinsley have a genuine friendship. I don’t think they are besties or thick as thieves. I do think they grew closer, as Carole and Bethenny were drifting apart. I do not think that is why Carole and Bethenny’s friendship ended, though. I don’t think Carole intended on hurting Tinsley’s feelings, I think she just meant that their friendship was developing and growing. Carole was just saying they are not attached at the hip, and soul sisters. They aren’t besties, but they are friends. I have no doubts that Carole and Tinsley will remain friendly. It’ll be interesting to see if Carole will make any appearances on RHONY with Tins down the road. Stay tuned, loves!
