Kenya Moore, star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, will not be returning next season. As Kenya makes it known, she always gets what she wants. After “messy” contract negotiations, she won’t be returning to the 11th season of the RHOA. The former Miss U.S.A. wanted to return full-time, and apparently, production did as well. However; she wanted more money than they were offering. Plus they wanted her to film all parts of her personal life, including her personal time with husband Marc Daly – that she would not film before.
According to People, sources said, “They were at a stand still for so long. Everyone was rooting for her and wanted to see her back, even women like Nene and Porsha who haven’t always been on ‘Team Kenya.’ The cast, producers, Bravo – they all know she’s good for the show. But it got messy. She just refused to compromise.”
Sources say she was offered other casting options last week – but that is all over now. Filming had already begun on some scenes without her, including a cast trip to Miami. That didn’t mean she couldn’t still make her entrance on the RHOA though. She recently was spending time with Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burrus and Porsha Williams.
Last season Kenya came under criticism by producers, fans and her castmates last season because she wouldn’t film her personal life. Kenya and her husband, Marc Daly, got married in June 2017 and it was not filmed for the RHOA. Production was not aware the wedding was going to happen. Kenya’s husband has only appeared once on the show, for a short scene during season 10. The pretty pair are expecting their first child this year! Kenya also kept her fertility treatment off of the show and didn’t go on the cast trip to Barcelona last year.
Sources stated, “Everyone wanted to have Kenya back, but they wanted to have the old Kenya back – the one who isn’t afraid of the cameras. You can’t have secrets and be on reality TV. Especially when other Housewives are showing all of their lives; the good, bad, and the ugly. They need to see your life.”
I’m sad Kenya won’t be returning! She twirls! LOL. I loved her on the RHOA. She certainly made for good entertainment, too! I understand why she doesn’t want to film certain aspects of her personal life and I don’t blame her. However; since it’s reality TV and that’s what The Real Housewives are all about – I’m not surprised that production was pushing for it. It’s hard to find the balance on a reality show. I’m hoping Kenya will still make some appearances, plus there is always next season!
