Carole Radziwill is exiting the Real Housewives of New York after season 10.
In a statement to PEOPLE, Carole revealed that she would be handing in her apple and walking away from her reality TV life.
“After six seasons on Bravo’s RHONY, I have decided to return to what I do best — journalism and producing,” Carole revealed. “I am sure this does not come as a surprise to any of the viewers, all of whom have been supportive, encouraging, and kind. My original curiosity about reality television has waned over the years and I am focusing on TV and writing projects that better suit my more steady temperament.”
“I have worked with amazing producers, made great friends, and I’m thrilled to leave frenemies behind,” Carole explained. “I will remember this entire experience with delight, humor, and a veracious accuracy. Next.”
Just before officially announcing her departure from RHONY she alluded to her exit in an Instagram post writing, “Didn’t change, just learned.”
While Carole says she’s leaving RHONY to focus on other projects insiders say her exit can be blamed on Bethenny Frankel.
TMZ reports that after Bethenny and Carole’s fallout this past year Carole felt “blackballed” on the RHONY. Sources say Bethenny used her influence to reduce Carole’s camera time and push her off the show.
In fact, insiders say that behind the scenes the RHONY cast refers to the show as “The Bethenny Show” because she controls so much and has so much power.
Either way, Carole won’t be returning to RHONY for season 11 which means fresh meat! Or perhaps a familiar face aka Jill Zarin will be returning.
I’m surprised Carole is leaving RHONY but I have a feeling she knew before this season started to air that it would be her last. Carole was cut-throat in all of her blogs and on social media this year – she didn’t give two shits because she knew the clock was ticking on her exit from the show.
