This season of Southern Charm was one for the books. Kathryn C. Dennis and Patricia Altschul set aside their differences and became friendly with one another. The two ladies had not always seen eye to eye, however; Patricia extended an invitation to Kathryn to her Winter Ball. The invitation and warm welcome, was at the suggestion of fellow co-star, Shep Rose. This event was the location of the season’s finale episode. During the drama filled finale, things escalated between Ashley Jacobs, the girlfriend of Kathryn’s ex-boyfriend, Thomas Ravenel. Ashley even called Kathryn an “egg donor,” since she’s the mother of Thomas’ children. Patricia came to Kathryn’s defense and said that those comments were “unspeakably cruel.”
The two ladies even recently watched the Southern Charm reunion together. What does Ashley have to say about their newfound friendship? Ashley says that she has “no relationship” with Patricia in a sneak peek of Part 2 of this season’s reunion. Ashley recently told The Daily Dish, “Yeah, good for them, you know. I think it’s interesting because Patricia said some things, like she was the one rooting me on, and when I had said the things that I had said about Kathryn, she liked it. She applauded me for it. She was supportive, so it was just really interesting for me to see that. But, you know, it’s like that saying, ‘The enemy of my enemy is my friend.'”
Apparently Thomas is not thrilled. Ashley added that it’s been “upsetting” for him to see Kathryn and Patricia make amends, after trying to bring them closer together for so long. Ashley said, “So it’s interesting. But I’m sure Kathryn appreciates that support, and who wouldn’t?”
I’m glad that Kathryn and Patricia are working on a friendship and are getting along so well. I don’t think their best friends or anything, but it’s good to see them set aside their differences and make amends. They are acting like real ladies. I’m not shocked that Ashley and Thomas find this puzzling. I thought Ashley’s comments this season were horrifying. I think Ashley and Thomas need some love and peace in their lives. Hopefully they get that, and can co-parent effectively. I’m excited for the rest of the reunion!
