The Real Housewives of New York are getting very real about being on reality TV. The perks of being a reality TV star include fame, money, and success but it turns out there are a few major pitfalls to being part of the Real Housewives.
At Refinery29’s “The Mention Pop-Up” on Wednesday RHONY stars Ramona Singer, Tinsley Mortimer, and Dorinda Medley dished on their least favorite parts of being on the Real Housewives; agreeing that rehashing old drama while shooting their confessionals is the worst part of their job.
“After we stop filming, we have to do those several months later,” explained Tinsley. “You have to go back in time and then talk about things. It gets uncomfortable.”
Tinsley admitted, that like others, she was hurt by what she heard her co-stars say in their confessionals especially Sonja Morgan.
“When I saw what Sonja said about me, my family sort of, the way I came back to New York,” she recalled. “I was so mad. It is really, really tough.”
While things between Tinsley and Sonja are “great” now that doesn’t always happen. For the most part, confessional comments always come back to haunt Housewives especially when the reunion rolls around.
Ramona agreed and confessed that “Confessionals are the worst part. They’re definitely cringe-worthy sometimes.”
Another pitfall is the reunion prep which Dorinda revealed really gets everybody fired up.
According to Dorinda, the ladies have to prep for the reunion by watching the last six to seven episodes of the season about a week before filming takes place.
“So we’re really hyped up,” she said.
Rehashing drama months later doesn’t sound fun at all. Yuck, I’d hate that. I know that in April the NY Housewives were still shooting their confessionals for season 10, which is completely crazy but I guess that’s how it works.
Are you surprised the confessionals are the worst part of being on Real Housewives? Are the confessional cringe-worthy? Do the confessional comments cause the most drama at the reunions?
