Andy Cohen has an opinion on EVERYTHING when it comes to the Real Housewives and the bevy of other reality TV shows Bravo airs.
While the Godfather of Bravo often keeps us guessing on what he REALLY thinks about his fellow Bravolebrities every so often he unlocks the vault and spills all the tea we’ve been dying to hear.
And that’s just what he did during a recent interview with Good Morning America.
In the interview, Andy opens up about hot topics including which former Housewife he wants to return, if fans will be getting a new Housewives franchise anytime soon, and why certain friends of the Housewives have never been elevated to full-time status.
To start things off Andy opens up about Gregg Leakes recent cancer diagnosis and reveals if he’s been in contact with Gregg and NeNe.
“She and I have traded messages,” Andy said, referring to Nene Leakes, “and I sent him a bunch of books. I know she’s with him now and you know, we’re all just praying for Gregg. We really love Gregg.”
Andy also dished on why Marlo Hampton has never gotten a peach.
“At first,” he said, laughing, “we wondered whether it was a right fit. Nene was advocating her from the start and then she and Nene really fell out…and then Nene left the show and so I mean, it’s been kind one thing after the next.”
Speaking of Marlo, Andy weighs in on Marlo and Kandi’s now-defunct reality show.
“Kandi is a businesswoman so I thought it was cool. I got it,” Andy confessed.
As for why Kandi seemingly has a spinoff-show every year, Andy says “She doesn’t have anything in her contract. She’s just a good businesswoman and she always has a lot of ideas and she’s also really passionate.”
To wrap the RHOA portion of the interview Andy admits he’s listened to Kim Zolciak’s new song “Wig” and says he “got a kick out of it.”
Meanwhile, Andy confesses that if he could bring back any former Housewife to a franchise it would be “Caroline Manzo.”
Andy also called Teresa Giudice’s new body-building hobby “amazing.”
“I loved it. It was awesome. I thought it was amazing,” Andy explained.
When it comes to which RHONY he’s most like Andy says“Oh my God…that’s a really hard question. I am maybe Radzi. I don’t know. I don’t know that I’m that like any of them.”
While fans are hopeful for more Real Housewives franchises, including the rumored Real Housewives of San Antonio, Andy admits no new franchises are in the works saying “I think we’re good right now.”
Moving on to other Bravo shows, Andy starts off with the beloved People’s Couch which probably won’t ever come back to Bravo.
“I get more texts and tweets about that show[People’s Couch], but I think the ratings were not that strong enough to make Bravo bring it back, to pick it up. It was fun for a couple years.”
Andy also called Thomas Ravenel’s absence from the recent Southern Charm reunion “a mutual decision” between the network and its star.
However, Andy says that despite Thomas’ absence at the reunion his lady love Ashley sure made up for it.
“I was stunned,” Andy says of Ashley recent meltdown on Southern Charm. “I was stunned and it’s not her last meltdown of the season and what happens at the reunion is jaw-dropping.”
While sticking with jaw-dropping topics, Andy says he was and wasn’t surprised by Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s recent engagement.
“I was both surprised and not at all [surprised],” he said. “I hope Jax doesn’t blow it.”
Whew, so there you have it all the dirt you’ve been dying to know!
I have to admit I’d like to see Caroline back on RHONJ – it would be fun and think of the drama! I also can’t wait to see the Southern Charm reunion.
Thoughts on Andy’s interview? Which former Housewife would you like to see return? Would you like to see Bravo bring back the People’s Couch? Do you think Bravo’s new San Antonio show is a Housewives franchise? Will Marlo get her peach for season 11? Sound off below!
