Andy Cohen Bethenny Frankel The Real Housewives of New York - RHONY

Andy Cohen and Bethenny Frankel Slam Aviva Drescher Over Claims She Was Forced To Drink on RHONY!

Several former Real Housewives recently accused Bravo of pushing alcohol on cast members in attempts to exploit their drunken antics for the sake of reality TV.

One former Housewife leading the way was RHONY‘s Aviva Drescher, who claims that producers pressured her into taking shots of alcohol.

“I told the head producer, ‘I don’t want to do a shot. Can you just fill it with water?’ And they said no,” Aviva dished to Page Six “I was so weak and so intimidated by the production team, and I had just gone through all the negotiations of my contract for the second season and those were demoralizing… I took the shot. I felt tremendous pressure to do it.”

“The producers just have two goals,” continued Drescher. “One is to create a great television show. And two, if they can capture reality, that’s TV gold. A lot of the time, it’s not always 100-percent authentic. But when you catch somebody drunk, that’s as real as can be.”

While Aviva wasn’t the only former Housewife to speak out, she was the one Andy Cohen called out specifically when he addressed claims Bravo pushes alcohol on the Real Housewives.

If you haven’t read the full Page Six interview check it out here.

In an Instagram story video, Andy called BS on the claims and called the entire story “dumb.”

“The equivalent of the print version of clickbait is this,” Andy said while showing off the article in his video.

Adding, “This article is so dumb. It’s a lot of quotes from Aviva [Drescher] complaining about the show.”

However, it turns out Andy wasn’t the only one pissed off about Aviva’s claims.

Current Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel also took the time to dispute Aviva’s claims.

“As the person responsible for putting you on Rhony, I take offense to you misrepresenting the truth & saying producers prodded you to drink,” Bethenny tweeted. “As someone here since day 1 with 13 years of reality tv experience, it is a flat-out falsehood.”

Meanwhile, Aviva stuck by her story when responding to Bethenny’s tweet.

“I am so happy for you and your experience,” Aviva fired back on Twitter. “I was once asked to do a shot with Ramona for a make-up scene (suggested by producers). When I asked producer to fill my shot with water – I was refused and told that I HAD to drink the shot with alcohol. That happened.”

As for Bravo, they also denied allegations that Real Housewives producers push alcohol on their stars telling PEOPLE,“The franchise follows the women in their real lives. No one is pressured to drink alcohol. If the network, production company or castmates have deemed that someone is putting themselves at risk in their overall lives, we have taken and will continue to take responsible action.”

I think the claims that Bravo or producers push the ladies to drink is such BS. First off, most of these ladies party hard and drink a lot even when the cameras aren’t rolling. Plus most of the ladies interviewed, with the exception of Sonja, were fired, former Housewives. I think we have a bunch of bitter-betties who are pissed they got fired and are trying to extend their 15-minutes of fame.

Thoughts on the claims against Bravo? Do you think Bravo pushes the Housewives to drink? Are these former Housewives just seeking attention to extend their 15-minutes of fame? Do you believe Bethenny or Aviva? Sound off below!
