More trouble for Melissa Gorga!
The Real Housewives of New Jersey star is making headlines once again for selling counterfeit Chanel merchandise.
Melissa announced on Instagram that her boutique Envy would no longer be selling Chanel merchandise after being informed by Chanel that the items in question were “counterfeit and illegal.”
“NOTICE: Chanel has informed Envy By Melissa Gorga that all of the Chanel branded goods previously offered and sold by our company were counterfeit and illegal. As such, we have ceased all sales of Chanel branded goods and will not be carrying any such goods in our store in the future.”
This news comes after Chanel decided to sue one of the largest and oldest vintage shops in NYC, What Goes Around Comes Around, for selling fake Chanel bags – a claim the stores denies.
I for one saw the pictures of the “Chanel” merchandise being sold at Envy and always knew it wasn’t authentic – didn’t everyone? Chanel doesn’t sell beanies and other stuff like that and if they did they would cost a pretty penny. I think the items in question were meant to be sold as “Chanel inspired” which in the world of fashion is still a slippery slope.
However, this isn’t the first time Melissa has made headlines this year. Currently, Melissa and Andy Cohen are being sued by Melissa ex-Envy business partner, Jackie Robinson Beard, for $30 million.
Not to mention Melissa and her husband Joe’s restaurant, Gorga’s Homemade Pasta & Pizza, suddenly closed earlier this year after being open less than a year.
Talk about drama!
Melissa has a great boutique going for her and doesn’t need to sell that kind of stuff anyway. Despite this little hiccup – Envy will be fine and have continued success.
