Shannon Beador of The Real Housewives of Orange County, is much more than just a ‘real housewife.’ The OC mom is now a businesswoman and is launching her own prepared food line called ‘Real For Real Cuisine’ that will launch on QVC on April 18th. Apparently each meal portion is only 450 calories or less. Shannon says it’s all about “portioning” when it comes to dieting. She used to think that you needed to eat little to none to lose weight, but she says that is just not true.
According to Bravo’s The Feast, Shannon explained, “A lot of times there are portion-control issues, and a lot of people aren’t aware of the calories that are involved in each item or ingredient they’re using in the meal. The other thing that’s important to me as well is I like to use fresh, simple ingredients, so that’s kind of how we’ve put the meals together. All the ingredients work well together, it’s complete meal, and it’s as fresh as you can get.”
It’s not all business with no pleasure, though. Shannon has been able to spend a lot of quality time with her daughters during this time. It’s much needed for her, since she is currently going through a divorce. Shannon said, “What has been fun for me as well, is I’ve been putting a lot of time in the kitchen. I do love to cook, and to kind of try and figure out what my favorite recipes are and then forward it onto the chef, it’s been a lot of fun. My kids, we’ve been spending a lot of time with the girls in the kitchen, having them try things. Is this a good one? Is this a bad one? So it’s been nice.”
I’m glad that Shannon has been getting to spend time with her daughters. It’s good that she’s channeling everything into something positive. Shannon seems to be making really good changes in her life and seems more zen. She even has a genuine friendship now with former frenemy and RHOC co-star, Kelly Dodd. The sky is the limit!
