Blessings on blessings!
Recently Cynthia Bailey of The Real Housewives of Atlanta had surgery. Tons of people showed their support and well wishes on social media for her. Many fans and friends commented that they were sending her prayers.
She shared on her Instagram, “Grateful surgery went well this morning & was so happy my mom was there with me. Came home to this beautiful balloon from @ohlalacompany_. Thank you for thinking of me. I’m feeling good. #healthiswealth #speedyrecover.” Her fellow cast mates, Porsha Williams and Kenya Moore, liked the post to show their support.
It’s unclear what the surgery was exactly for. A few years ago she announced she was anemic because of her fibroids. A lot of people had been speculating that she was pregnant prior to that. Back in 2013 Cynthia told the press and Cocoa Fab, “I made the personal choice to do something about it because I was anemic because of my fibroids. It was really affecting my life. I was too tired to do anything and I could barely function at one point. Some days I could barely get out of bed.” It really took a toll on her life. She added, “I was a hot mess every time my cycle came around. There was three weeks out of the month where that took over my life and left me with one good week, which is not enough.” Cynthia had stated that after she had Noelle, she was diagnosed with fibroids. However; it didn’t bother her until she got older and it started to grow.
*UPDATE: Hey loves, it’s Lara. As I was publishing this story I saw Cynthia gave an update and wanted to share it with you all.
Cynthia had surgery to remove a benign lipoma from her back. The RHOA star opened up about the ordeal to Bravo’s The Daily Dish.
“I noticed a slight raised lump on my back near my left shoulder blade about 2 months ago. At first, I thought I had been bitten by something, or it was just back fat. A couple of weeks later, I noticed that it was still there and seemed to be growing,” Cynthia shared with The Daily Dish. “I went to the doctor and was told that it was a lipoma, a fatty tumor. … I Googled it immediately and was blown away by the photos of the worst cases in particular. I was scared because as soon as I heard the word ‘tumor,’ I immediately thought cancer.”
“Surgery went well, however it went much longer than expected because the tumor was embedded very deeply in my back and partially under a muscle. It was also larger than expected,” she added. “In the end, thankfully all the lipoma was removed successfully, and it is benign.”
We’re sending our well wishes to Cynthia and hope she has a speedy recovery! Stay tuned for the RHOA reunion!
