As Real Housewives of New York’s Countess Luann de Lesseps is fond of saying, “life is a cabaret.” So, if you missed her much-discussed cabaret show Countess and Friends – that campy performance where castmate Sonja Morgan’s open dress became an unexpected highlight! – you’ll be pleased to know that 5 additional shows have been scheduled for this spring.
In fact, you could score your own VIP tickets to one of those performances.
De Lesseps took to Instagram to announce a contest which calls upon fans to rap her song “Money can’t buy you class” and post a video to their Instagram pages with the hashtag #CountessAndFriends. She will then choose the funniest and most creative rappers to award with tickets.
Countess and Friends opened at Manhattan’s Feinstein’s/54 Below not long after de Lesseps’ notorious Florida arrest, which spurred interest from the tabloids and even led to a feature in The New York Times. While the reality star may not be considered much of a singer, her spirit and humor as a performer was appreciated by the audience and critics alike. Also notable in past performances, were the famous faces that joined de Lesseps onstage.
According to Vanity Fair: “One by one, the countess kept welcoming her ‘friends’ up to the stage: Broadway performer Lesli Margherita sang a fun number; Kinky Boots’ Natalie Joy Johnson stole the show with her “I Would Do Anything for Love/Making Love Out of Nothing at All” mash-up; and Drag Race star Alexis Michelle showed up in full “Happy Birthday Mr. President” attire to sing ‘Diamonds Are Forever.’”
Since “The Countess” is full of surprises, fans have said they’ll be following to see who wins the VIP tickets and if there will be anything else in store for those recipients at the upcoming shows.
The Deadline for submission on Instagram is May 1st and if you’re the creative type, C’est bon, C’est bon.
