Kyle Richards Let's Discuss: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills - RHOBH

Does Kyle Richards Believe In the Real Housewives Divorce Curse?

One of the scariest things about doing reality TV, if you’re married, is the dreaded reality TV divorce curse, which seems to be very true for Real Housewives.

So, does Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards believe in the Real Housewives divorce curse?

Of course not, silly!

However, Kyle does have a good explanation for why so many Real Housewives marriages end in divorce.

During a recent appearance on E!’s Daily Pop Kyle explained her theory.

“I really believe that a lot of people go into doing the Housewives because they’re not happy in their marriages. They’re thinking, ‘This is going to give me some independence, this is going to be my out.’ And then the pressure starts, and they crack. It’s inevitable.”

Unlike many other Housewives Kyle and her husband, Mauricio Umansky have been together since 1996. So, what’s their secret to surviving the ups and downs of reality TV?

“Like I said, you have to have a really strong foundation, to begin with,” Kyle explained. “And we do, thank God. This show is obviously very stressful and very time consuming, but if anything, it’s made us even closer.”

Kyle’s theory seems totally plausible to me. I hate to see marriages fall apart on TV but it happens all the time. All I know is I’d be heartbroken if Kyle and Mauricio split.

Thoughts on Kyle’s theory? Why do you think so many Real Housewives marriages end in divorce? Do you ever see Kyle and Mauricio splitting?
