Real Housewives of Orange County newbie Peggy Sulahian is addressing rumors that she didn’t invite her brother to their father’s funeral because he’s gay.
During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Peggy got candid about the rumors and finally revealed her side of the story.
“Absolutely not. I am not a homophobe, absolutely not. We have not spoken in twenty years,” Peggy told Andy. “No, I am not a homophobe. I support the LGBT community. I love them. I have nothing against them, and it has nothing to do with him being gay at all.”
As for why she and her brother are estranged, Peggy played coy only saying “It’s a private family affair and that’s just what it is.”
Meanwhile, Peggy’s brother Pol Atteu now claims that the OC star has banned him from seeing his nieces and nephew.
“This past June, I posted a heartfelt message to my nine-year-old nephew Koko wishing him a happy birthday, and she immediately deleted it,” Atteu explains.“I thought that it was a mistake, so I reposted the same comment and took a screenshot of it. But she deleted it again, and it is still deleted!”
“I just find it so heartbreaking that my sister Peggy still has not accepted me as a successful celebrity fashion designer that also happens to be a homosexual,” Atteu says.
While Peggy has denied her issues with Pol have anything to do with homosexuality, Pol isn’t buying it.
“At this point, my sister’s actions speak much louder than her words,” Atteu says in response to Peggy’s statements. “I thought she had matured and grown now that she had children of her own and would realize the importance of siblings. Clearly, I was wrong.”
It seems that Peggy and her brother won’t be reconciling anytime soon. For now, this family feud should stay between the family.
