Fans have been eagerly awaiting season 8 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey for months, but it turns out the new season may be a big disappointment.
On Twitter, one fan spilled some tea and revealed that season 8 would only be 12 episodes long! 12! Are you kidding me?
Most Real Housewives seasons run around 23-24 episodes per season, so this means that season 8 of RHONJ will be dramatically shorter than other franchises.
Well, the franchise only filmed for three months, when other franchises spend close to 5-6 months filming.
Perhaps, RHONJ producers didn’t have the footage to make the season longer or feel they can make 23 episodes worth of drama fit into 12 episodes.
This news comes after RHONJ was pushed to an Oct 4th release date. Initially, season 8 was set to premiere in the summer of 2017 but was delayed by Bravo for ratings. Bravo hoped that pushing RHONJ to the fall would increase the ratings.
However, now things aren’t looking good for the Jersey franchise especially if Bravo is cutting down the number of episodes per season. It should be noted that season 2 of Potomac only had 12 episodes, 14 including the two-part reunion. Not good.
Let’s positively look at this issue and say that season 8 will have 12 episodes of jam-packed drama with no filler like other franchises.
Do you think season 8 of RHONJ will only be 12 episodes? Are you disappointed RHONJ is getting shafted with a shorter season?
