Margaret Josephs may be the newbie on the Real Housewives of New Jersey, but she’s already proving to be full of drama.
In 2014, Margaret’s lifestyle brand Macbeth Collection was sued for $12 million by rival clothing company Vineyard Vines, and their legal battle is still open.
According to documents obtained by In Touch, Vineyard Vines is accusing Margaret’s company of “trademark infringement.”
A judge ruled in favor of Vineyard Vines, and Margaret was forced to pay $300,000 in damages.
However, it seems that Margaret never paid the full amount.
“Margaret didn’t abide by the ruling,” Vineyard Vines lawyer Todd Sharinn tells In Touch.
Meanwhile, Margaret’s lawyer had no comment except to say that litigation is still ongoing.
Vineyard Vines is now asking for $7 million and expects Margaret to pay.
“I have seen some of her banking records….she lives a pretty good life, obviously good enough to get on RHONJ,” explains Sharinn.
Margaret is set to make her debut as a Real Housewife when season 8 of RHONJ premieres on Oct 4th.
From what I hear Margaret is a great business woman, so I’m sure she has her ducks in a row. I think Margaret will handle this legal issues in due time.
Are you surprised Margaret has legal drama? Should Margaret have to pay Vineyard Vines $7 million? Why do think Margaret didn’t pay the full $300,000? Are you excited for season 8 of RHONJ? Do you think Margaret will be a good addition to RHONJ?
