Andy Cohen is the head honcho of The Real Housewives, and although he’s made a few side comments about LuAnn and Tom D’Agostino’s divorce on WWHL, we all know he has a lot more to say.
Andy was invited to their Palm Beach New Years Eve wedding just seven months ago, and while he chose to not attend, RHONY fans still assumed he heard about the divorce way before we did; but it turns out that wasn’t the case!
“I read it on Twitter,” Andy confirmed to Entertainment Tonight. Adding, “I didn’t not see it coming, but I didn’t see it coming. You know what I mean?” (Yes, I know exactly what you mean Andy!)
LuAnn and Tom didn’t announce their split until after the season 9 reunion was filmed, so although we’ve watched their tumultuous relationship on the show, their break-up won’t be the main topic of discussion next week. After Tweeting out the news LuAnn fled the country and is currently in Switzerland “taking some time for herself.” Unfortunately for her, social media is the same in every country, and days later the internet is still going crazy; she must be feeling beyond foolish, so who knows when she’ll be back in the USA!

It’s not a shock to hear that Andy did reach out to check on the former countess, and I’m curious to know if he’s already offered her a season 10 spot, or if she’ll have to work for it!
“I spoke to her the day she was leaving the country. You know, I think she very wisely is leaving the country to kind of gather her thoughts and get it together. I think it’s all happened in front of the cameras and, if you see the reunion, I think you’ll be surprised because you’ll begin to see the first signs of cracks in the relationship at the first part of the reunion,” he teased.
Continuing, “The reunion takes on a new meaning when you know the ending of the story, frankly. So, it’s interesting seeing it through that lens … I look forward to talking to Lu about where she’s at as soon as I can,” Andy explained.
Then he implied that there will be an hour-long Watch What Happens Live special, where we will hear the dirty details straight from Lu’s mouth. The details are still being worked out, and the only thing that’s been decided is that it will be an hour long; she must have a lot to say!
Finally, Andy shared what he thinks is the saddest part of the whole entire ordeal and it’s probably not what you’d expect!
“I think the wild thing is, she had just gotten all the other women in her corner and rooting for her,” he recalled. Wrapping, “That’s what’s also really sad about this, you know? Everybody was on her team.”
Thoughts on Andy’s interview? What do you think about the way he found out? Was the timing of their announcement planned out? Should Bravo be mad about it? Are you shocked that she’ll be on WWHL for 1-hour? Will we ever hear Tom’s side on Bravo? Will Lu’s RHONY co-stars actually be supportive, or are they basking in their predictions that he was a cheater?
