Bravo fans were shocked to learn that Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright landed the first Vanderpump Rules spin-off, yet disappointed once the subject was released!
The trailer for Jax and Brittany Take Kentucky looks cheesy and forced, but the fact that Brittany’s farming family is in a SUR like cast photo really takes the cake!
Jax sat down on The Daily Dish Podcast to promote the show, and he alleged a major fail on his part at the end; but they are still together, so we know it couldn’t have been THAT bad.
“I am excited. It was a lot of fun,” he revealed about having the first spin-off. Adding, “It was a long eleven days. It ended not the way I wanted it to end.”
It’s surprising that the show only covers less than two weeks of their lives, but maybe that’s all of the farming he could handle! Jax elaborated, “I knew going in what this was going to be like, but there are a lot of things that happened that weren’t planned. The way it ends is like… it’s bad. I’m not going to say anything else, I’m just going to say it’s bad,” he teased.
It sounds like Brittany’s family is even more country that we thought, and picturing Jax in this environment is enough to make us tune in (and LOL).
“I went to Kentucky with Brittany’s family. She has a five hundred acre farm with horses, pigs, roosters, chickens, she has like a hundred cattle. She’s got all kinds of animals. Have you ever seen Son in Law with Pauly Shore? It’s the same thing or what Paris [Hilton] and Nicole [Richie] did. If you mix those together, it’s that. Me on a farm is like I’m so out of my element doing chores and things like that,” he explained.
“Me going to church was quite interesting. I think I had the whole film crew in tears,” he recalled.
Jax definitely won’t be moving to Kentucky anytime soon, and he doesn’t miss, “getting up at crack of dawn, feeding the animals, and actually having to work,” he admitted. Clarifying, “It’s a lot of work and dealing with her friends and her family- that part of the world is just wow. She’s literally in the middle of nowhere.”
So how did the rest of the Vanderpump Rules cast react, obviously with envy! “Of course the girls are like ‘We’re so happy for Brittany, but not you, you asshole.’ They’re all like, ‘Why didn’t we get one,’” he wrapped!
This show looks super corny and not a great choice for the first VPR spin-off, but we’ll definitely be watching; at least for the first episode or two!
