While Ashley Darby is done playing by Potomac’s rules, she did appreciate the feel-good moments and girlfriend advice on this week’s RHOP. Her marriage and business are both falling apart, and a day at the Preakness was just what the doctor ordered!
Ashley recently opened up to Bravo about this week’s episode, and admitted that the women’s concern for her struggles with Oz and Michael “touched her to the core.” She also called out Robyn Dixon for being so closed off about her status with Juan, and hinted that she still wants to have a baby with Michael.
First she commented on Robyn telling her co-stars to, “mind their own business” instead of asking about her relationship with Juan, and Ashley was specifically asked about their, “marriage.” Ashley threw some shade, but followed it up by questioning why Robyn doesn’t realize the women are actually just concerned.
“Wait, what marriage? I thought Robyn and Juan were co-habitating parents with benefits? Anywho, it’s impossible to keep a secretive personal life when you have such a public marriage and separation,” she asserted. Clarifying, “While Robyn may perceive it as malicious, sometimes people are inquiring because they actually care and want to understand her situation. Sure she may not have the answers yet, but life if short and time is precious, so perhaps Robyn should consider what will actually make her happy.”
Then she opened up about the women’s surprising support on the current struggles in her life; it seems that Ashley may be finally finding her place in this group. “That moment at Preakness touched me to the core,” Ashley confessed. Elaborating, “I had a deep and profound appreciation for the ladies that I didn’t know existed! I’m human, I know I don’t have all the answers, so I am grateful for any sound advice and assurance from trustworthy people who have a shared experience. It’s apparent that our relationships have progressed leaps and bounds since last year. I mean, who’d have thunk that I’d be entering the cougar’s den for a therapy session? But I’m very glad I did,” she gushed.
Michael and Ashley used indoor skydiving as an attempt to re-connect, but in her interview segment Ashley became extremely emotional about their marital problems. However, she’s now claiming that Michael doubts her abilities in basically everything, so it’s unclear why he funded her restaurant in the first place; that can’t be a good feeling for her, and frankly she deserves better.
“While I usually try to keep a brave face, the difficulties of mixing business and marriage have rocked my emotions. There is a great deal of doubt about my abilities, and whether opening a restaurant was the right decision after all. So many question marks are hanging in the air – what better way to solve them than going indoor sky diving? Michael and I fell in love and bonded over the love of adrenaline. One of our very first dates was free falling out of an airplane at 13,500 feet in the air. Doing an activity that we both loved helped us to reprioritize and remember that our relationship comes first,” she explained.
Finally, Ashley confirmed that she and Michael are still together, and for her, the possibility of having a baby is still there; she’s ready and waiting!
“A failed marriage is certainly a concern for me – who wants to experience devastating loss like that? The other ladies have children or other obligations that kept them in an unhappy relationship, which I understand, but the last thing I will do is be tethered to an unfulfilling situation. But it’s true, marriage takes work, and Michael and I are still punched in. This oven is still hot and ready for Hot Cross Darby,” she wrapped.
Ashley is really growing on me, but I think she needs to get rid of Michael. He has no right to throw all of the blame on her regarding OZ; she’s the one who has fresh ideas, and he’s shooting them down. She’s still young, gorgeous, and fun; it’s time for her to go find a younger man who will give her the life she is looking for!
