A few months back Bravo held a live event and four popular housewives revealed behind the scenes secrets and told never before heard Real Housewives stories for an audience at Mohegan Sun Casino. Following that, fans that attended were able to ask questions and get a personal, unfiltered answers in a new, unique setting!
Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Ramona Singer, and Vicki Gunvalson headlined the event and it was a huge success! So big in fact, that Bravo decided to run with this forum, but take it on the road for the first-ever The Real Housewives Live Tour! They chose Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Kenya Moore, Cynthia Bailey, and Kandi Burruss Tucker as the featured wives; they started small with just a few cities, but this was just the initial plan for the tour.
Bravo’s choice of housewives for the event is a bit questionable, and according to Perez Hilton this cast just isn’t popular enough; the tour isn’t selling and is now at risk for being cancelled before it even happens!
Apparently no one is interested in what these ladies have to say, even though they are advertising the event as “reunion-style insights, jaw-dropping gossip, and shocking revelations” from The Real Housewives! Ticket sales are, “shockingly low” and it may not be worth it for Bravo to follow through with the tour, which is set to begin later this month!
I think that the idea is great, but Bravo chose these women all-wrong! Dorinda and Sonja are good choices in my opinion, but it’s interesting that they are allegedly feuding, yet going to travel and present this event together!
The RHOA women are where they dropped the ball, big time; Cynthia is on her last leg as a housewife, and Kenya is so controversial that if you don’t like her, it would ruin the show all together. Kandi Burruss Tucker is said to be very popular, but she definitely doesn’t have loyal the fan-base that she should, given how long she’s been on the show. She’s also had an intense season and so much of her role on the show revolves around sex; this doesn’t appeal to everyone, and may be a turn-off to certain audiences.
They didn’t cast anyone from RHONJ or RHOC most likely because they are still filming, so that definitley hurt ticket sales a bit. Although, adding a RHOBH or two would have boosted the tour, fans love the 90210 glamour! I’m not sure how no one realized this before they announced the event, but it seems obvious that this cast isn’t ideal.
If Bravo wants to start producing a Real Housewives live tour they need to spend money; it appears that they went with a cast that needs the money, or just has a lot of time on their hands and wants to do all that they live in the spotlight! For the initial season they really needed big names, and hopefully this opens the networks eyes that some of these RHOA women need to go.
Teresa, Melissa, Vicki, and Ramona are what made the first event so successful, and the cast for the live tour doesn’t even compare!
