Melissa Gorga knows that being on reality TV isn’t all it’s cracked up to be but now the Real Housewives of New Jersey star is opening up about why it’s rewarding to do reality TV.
On Instagram, Melissa posted a message she received from a fan, in which the fan revealed how Melissa and RHONJ helped her get through some difficult times in her life.
The fan revealed that Melissa’s perseverance during the difficult times in her life inspired her to begin the road to conquering her addiction.
“I’m getting divorced, and I’m dealing with my addiction,” the fan wrote. “It’s tough, but every time I put on your song, On Display, I instantly get that spark I need. Anytime I feel like giving up I put on an episode of the show and see how much you have overcome. I just wanted to thank you for helping me out even though you don’t even know me.”
Melissa explained that the messages from fans that are filled with love, hope, and support make it all worth it at the end of the day.
“People ask me all the time “is it rewarding to do the show?” There are pros and cons to everything. But this is one of the many emails I receive from beautiful people that makes it all worth it #lovemypeople #hanginthere,” Melissa wrote.
While reality TV may be touted as nonsense and fluff, it’s clear that the ladies are impacting and making a difference in some fans lives.
I love that Melissa posted this message and acknowledged how much she loves her supporters. It’s easy to see why messages like this make the craziness of reality TV worth it.
