Throughout her years on RHOBH Lisa Rinna has come under fire many times for talking about Kim Richards and her sobriety. Following their epic Amsterdam battle (“Don’t you dare talk about my husband”), Kim suffered a relapse, two arrests, and multiple rehab stints. While in the past Kim blamed RHOBH for her sobriety issues, she’s in a great place and back on the show in a part-time role.
As expected, her sobriety has become the main topic of conversation AGAIN, and fans are torn between blaming Lisa Rinna and newbie Eden Sassoon. Rinna’s BFF Eileen Davidson recently spoke to The Daily Dish and defended Lisa, insisting that she is “seriously trying” to not discuss Kim’s sobriety. That may be the case now, but earlier in the season we all watched her spread an exaggerated version of Kim’s condition to Eden, who set off on a mission to help Kim and her sister Kyle; help that was not perceived with open arms!
Eileen confirmed that she has no desire to fight with Kim, and even though they had issues in the past, she is happy Kim and wishes her well. “I felt like whatever happened two years ago, I had a reason for saying what I said, which really wasn’t that much of a big deal,” she said. Adding, “That’s not happening. I’m not seeing any problems. She seems happy and healthy, and I celebrate that. I’m happy for her. I’m ready to move on from that. I don’t want to drag this woman down. She’s been through Hell. She’s doing great, I want to applaud that. So to be talking about it, I’m just like, ew. It just makes me feel icky. I don’t like it. It’s not two years ago. This is a different time, and I don’t know why we’re going back to that bad time. She’s not there,” Eileen explained.
Eileen totally disregarded Lisa’s gossip about Kim, and solely blamed Eden for keeping the sobriety conversation relevant; looks to me like Eileen isn’t watching the same RHOBH that we are! “What Eden is thinking is her not supporting Eden’s point-of-view is Lisa trying not to be pulled back into it. “Lisa] goes, ‘I just don’t want to be involved in this. I’m walking away.’ We both kind of felt like, you know what, Eden’s going too far with this. Lisa said some things I didn’t even know she said until later, and that was unfortunate, because it kind of brought all the Kim stuff up again, but I think she’s really trying to move on,” she revealed.
Eileen claims that she hasn’t felt any pressure to support Lisa, and says this is how she genuinely feels about the situation. “I don’t feel like I have to back her. I do understand a lot of her point-of-view where Kim is involved because I’ve been there, I’ve seen it. I do understand how she got triggered at the game night at Kyle’s house when Kim kind of inserted herself into our conversation. But Lisa makes her own choices. I don’t agree with everything she does. I can sometimes understand why she does it, but I’m not Lisa, and Lisa’s not me. So if she had a differing opinion of what I did or said, I would completely understand and never expect her to back me up on it,” she wrapped.
I’m sorry but I’m not buying this. I don’t understand how Lisa bringing up Kim’s sobriety and then walking away isn’t considered being involved; she’s the one who started everything. This was an instigated situation and I’m hoping by the season 7 reunion Rinna owns up to it! I like Lisa, but she needs to take responsibility for her role in this sobriety saga!
