You only turn 37 once, and Jax Taylor decided to do it big; he held his own roast!
The Vanderpump Rules cast took jabs at Jax; making jokes about his tattoos, weight, womanizing ways, and even accused him of being bi-sexual; basically everything you wouldn’t want your future mother-in-law to hear!
Sheri didn’t look pleased, and at the end of Monday night’s episode she teased a tough conversation was to come between the pair. Jax appeared on WWHL following the episode, so of course he spilled about his relationship with Brittany’s mom.
First, a caller asked if marriage was in Jax and Brittany’s future, and his response has been the same for months, maybe one day! “We’ve been dating a year, so as of today, no. In the future, possibly, yes,” Jax replied.
Jax also admitted that he and Sherri have talked about his “intentions” with Brittany, given he has quite the reputation with women. “There are some topics that I’m a little bit on the fence about, but that’s part of being a mother. You want your daughter to be brought up a certain way and have certain routines and certain tendencies and certain traits. I agree with some, and I disagree with some, and we’re working on that because there’s a little bit of an issue with certain things,” Jax explained.
Continuing, “Relationships need work and they need to make sure we find a happy medium, but I think you’re gonna see in the future how things are and I’ll leave it at that, because there’s just certain things that I’m on board with and there’s things that I’m not on board with, and I’ve got to find a happy medium with her family. They’re very religious, and they’re conservative. And that’s awesome. That’s amazing. I just come from a little bit different of a background.”
As expected, Jax revealed that Sherri’s presence at the roast was “brutal,” and as a viewer, the whole time I was cringing for both of them; she should have stayed home! “I mean, out of all people you want at a roast, you don’t want your current girlfriend’s mother when all your ex-girlfriends are there roasting you, and your best friends, front row,” he said. Adding, “The whole time I go, ‘I don’t think this is a good idea. I kind of gave her a head’s up. She knows my past hasn’t been the best. I don’t regret anything. That’s just who I am, kind of deal with it. But I would’ve maybe not liked to have her there.”
He sang the Cartwright’s praises, and confessed he “loves” them! “I love Brittany’s family. They’re really great. They are nothing but hospitable to me. They just take great care of me. They’re just country people, farmers, and they just feed me, feed me, feed me and just take really nice care of me… They just treat me like one of their own. So it’s really nice,” Jax gushed.
I love Brittany on VPR, but honestly wonder what she sees in Jax. I’m also shocked that he’s 37, I assumed he was much younger.
My family would have a much different reaction to Jax’s roast, and probably him in general. It’s nice to see the VPR girls support Brittany as well; it’s clear to everyone that she brings out a great side of him. He better start treating her better, or she’ll be onto the next SURver!
Do you like Jax? What about Brittany? Does she bring out a better side of him? Were you shocked Sherri went to the roast? Would your family react the same way, or would they be upset? Will you watch Jax and Brittany’s spin-off?
