What a difference a year makes!

Big news out of New Jersey tonight, Melissa Gorga’s ENVY is closed, for now! Melissa’s RHONJ season 7 storyline revolved around her pursuing her dream of opening a women’s clothing boutique, and she even had a fashion show that the AATRH team attended!

According to US Weekly there were recent rumors that the store was closing after customers saw that the “entire store” was empty. Melissa’s rep denies a permanent closing, and insists that ENVY will reopen in the spring.

Melissa Gorga is and has always been an owner of the Envy by Melissa Gorga boutique. Melissa and Jackie have had a difference of opinion on how the store should be run and at this point, Jackie is no longer involved in managing the boutique, but Melissa intends to maintain the success of the boutique by managing it on her own, and she is excited to open with a new inventory of spring fashions,” a rep for Melissa explained.

The drama doesn’t stop there however, allegedly Jackie has decided to go into business with a familiar RHONJ face, Kim D. An insider claims that Jackie moved the inventory from Envy to Posche by Kim D!

A source added, “Melissa was unhappy, and she was like, ‘You aren’t operating this store to make a profit. This isn’t working.’ She wanted to dissolve their agreement, but Jackie wanted Melissa to just give up her stake and be a paid spokesperson.”

Of course Kim D. had a lot to say about this situation, and she took some major digs at Melissa; she is loving this! “Envy is closed. Jackie was the real owner all along. I’m going to help her liquidate everything that was in the store. The store is empty. They stripped the chandeliers, the furniture, the computer, the cameras, all the clothes, it’s all gone. Jackie stripped it all because she owns it. … We’re going to have an Envy liquidation sale at Posche, the new Posche in Allendale,” Kim confirmed.

Melissa made a deal with Jackie that she would promote, she would put pictures of herself on Instagram and she would get a percentage of what was sold,” she wrapped.

There is now a sign reading, “Temporarily closed for inventory. Will reopen very soon,” outside Envy.

This is shocking, ENVY hasn’t even been open for a year! I personally have been to ENVY and I loved it. That being said, Jackie is actually who helped me, and she knows her stuff. In chatting we discovered that I used to shop at her store in Florida; she has a very impressive career in fashion! I honestly think that she and Kim will do great together.

On the other hand, Melissa’s involvement is what made the store popular and drew in the crowd. I also love her personal style; she’s a walking advertisment! I feel bad for her that she has to start over, and obviously  “rebuilding” ENVY will be a successful season 8 storyline. As a New Jersey resident I’ll definitely visit the store when it re-opens, but I think Melissa has her work cut out for her; she needs a new partner ASAP!

This drama is just heating up, so stick with AATRH for the scoop on ENVY closing it’s doors!

Thoughts on ENVY closing? Are you shocked? Why is Jackie partnering with Kim? Is Melissa rebuilding ENVY a tired storyline? Who do you think owns ENVY? Will Melissa be successful in opening the store again? Do you like Melissa’s style? Let’s Discuss!
