Bethenny Frankel may have started out as the “broke housewife” but she is now earning more than the vast majority!
Forbes recently did an article on the successful Skinnygirl, breaking down her earnings along with how she does it (hint: it’s more than margaritas!)
Bethenny reportedly sold the Skinnygirl line for $100 million in 2011 and was one of the highest paid celebs at the time. Despite not bringing home that amount every year, the B is still a top earning TV star. Forbes reported that this year, Bethenny made $8.5 million between June 1, 2015 and June 1, 2016. According to Forbes, this makes her 2016’s sixth highest-paid reality star. Even more, she is the only “housewife” mentioned and the only person without a Kardashian connection to make the list.
Bethenny does more than just make money on housewives. In fact the successful businesswoman even told Forbes, “What’s the point of being on TV if you don’t have something to sell?”
Despite selling Skinnygirl, Bethenny still owns the rights to the brand name “Skinnygirl” so still makes some extra cash by marketing other products. Bethenny has expanded her products and explains the method to her success as:
“It is important to know your message, identify your customer, and have a clear understanding of how to provide them what they need. As a woman that sits in the bullseye of the demographic we reach, I feel like I have a sense of what women want.”
The B also makes money off her Bravo salary (which is estimated at $1 million) her production company, Instagram posts. While others may have tried to hit the mark with their products, Bethenny is the only housewife to do it at such a successful level. In fact a source states: “She is way out ahead of the other Housewives. They don’t even come close. She has developed a brand; the others have not really developed brands.”
