Brooks Ayers strikes again.
Vicki Gunvalson spent a good chunk of the Real Housewives of Orange County season 11 reunion reliving her past. Vicki once again denied any involvement in her ex-boyfriend Brooks Ayers cancer scheme while apologizing to her co-stars for the divide her relationship with Brooks caused.
During part one of the RHOC reunion, the O.G. of the O.C. continued to claim her innocence while admitting she would have investigated Brooks more if she could do it all over again.
“The problem was, I was at a place where I was really busy, and I didn’t spend a lot of time with Brooks when he was doing all his stuff,” Vicki revealed. “Obviously they were right — you all were right, and I was wrong. I’m good admitting that. I don’t care anymore. I’m over it.”
However, Vicki admits she still would have defended Brooks, despite now knowing that “he’s a bad guy.”
“I was made a fool of through it — and I believed him,” Vicki said. “I really, sincerely learned a lot from him. It wasn’t all bad, but it ended horribly.”
Despite Vicki’s revelations, co-star and former friend Shannon Beador stood by her belief that Vicki knew about Brooks’ cancer deception before filming season 10 yet Vicki continued to protest her innocence.
“You’re wrong,” Vicki told Shannon. “I’m not talking about it, but you’re wrong. That is not true that I lied on a cancer scam. Don’t go there.”
It was also revealed at the reunion that during the cast trip to Ireland, Vicki admitted to her co-stars that she couldn’t wait to die and go to heaven to be with Brooks again.
“I said, ‘I kind of miss him,’” Vicki told reunion host Andy Cohen.
Vicki explained, “You guys didn’t know him the way I knew him, there was a point in time where I really felt he had my back and he really was a great guy. It’s been an evolution of emotions. And I really through he was my soulmate.”
Adding, “I feel I’m going to meet everyone I was with in heaven.”
Vicki’s co-star Heather Dubrow quickly commented on her claims, saying, “You don’t want to meet the bad guys.”
“Is he going to heaven?” Heather asked. “I don’t think people who fake cancer get to go, do they?”
While Andy wanted to continue discussing Vicki’s past with Brooks, the OG was over talking about her and encouraged Andy to move on.
“I don’t want to talk about him anymore,” Vicki said. “I get lit up like a candle. Let’s move on.”
Thank goodness Andy pushed Vicki on this subject at the reunion because Brooks’ lies and Vicki’s involvement, whatever it was, set the stage for the relationships and drama this season. What I’m most happy about is that Andy didn’t cower to Vicki’s demands to stop talking about Brooks and let the subject be thoroughly discussed. My gut still tells me Vicki knew more about Brooks’ cancer lies than she’s admitting but at this point I’m over it and would like to move past Vicki and Brooks relationship.
