The Real Housewives of Atlanta - RHOA

Kordell Stewart Claims RHOA Ruined His Marriage to Porsha Williams!

Kordell and Porsha were (very) far from the perfect couple. Despite the disagreements and odd chemistry we saw on screen, Kordell is placing the blame on the demise of his marriage on RHOA.

In a new memoir, Kordell states the reason that his marriage to Porsha lasted only a few years was because the show took a toll on the already doomed marriage. Kordell admits that his marriage wasn’t perfect before signing on; however after the cameras came in, “all existing problems in our marriage seemed to be brought to light.”

Kordell’s new memoir titled, Truth: The Kordell Stewart Story, also outlines that the show was a negative influence on his son from a previous relationship. Per Kordell, the lifestyle was a “negative impact” on his “young, impressionable” young boy.

I may not agree with everything Kordell has to say but I agree with that! Many of the Bravo children (Brielle, Ashlee etc.) seem to have gotten used to a certain type of lifestyle without having to work hard for it. I think the show can easily mess with a young adult.

Ultimately, Kordell states that “Over time. I felt like my only choice was to file for divorce.”

Kordell states that he chose his son over staying in a marriage that was being influenced by a reality show saying “the reality is that I have a child who is more important than a foolish reality TV show and people who are trying to make themselves relevant.”

I’m sure the divorce wasn’t 100% on RHOA or Porsha and Kordell surely has his faults. However, Porsha seems very immature and I can see her not wanting to leave the show despite her husband voicing his concerns over it.

What are your thoughts on Kordell’s statements? Do you think they could have stayed married if they left the show?
