Grab a box of tissues cause you’re going to need them for tonight’s episode of the Real Housewives of New Jersey.
Tonight Joe says goodbye to his family as he heads off to prison for four years. In an attempt to create some good memories before he leaves, Joe and Teresa Giudice plan a fun evening of making cupcakes at Magnolia Bakery, for their four daughters.
In between icing cupcakes, Joe talks fondly of his daughters calling them a “pain in the ass, but beautiful.” Joe, Teresa and the girls bond and take fun family photos.
Meanwhile, Jacqueline Laurita and her daughter Ashlee Holmes shopped for baby items and discussed Teresa not texting Ashlee to congratulate her on her pregnancy. Jacqueline said she was sad to hear Teresa didn’t reach out but claimed she wasn’t surprised.
Siggy also spends time with her parents, sister, and kids for some family bonding. As Siggy finishes complaining that her kids don’t spend enough time with her, Siggy’s mom turned the tables and told Siggy and her sister the same.
The family then decided to on an outing to see the Holocaust Memorial in New York, and Siggy’s dad opened up about his experience during the war.
We then catch up with Jacqueline and Chris who went bowling with Kathy and Richie Wakile plus Rosie Pierri and her new girlfriend, Laura.
Richie made offensive jokes about having a foursome with his wife, sister-in-law and her new girlfriend and nobody seemed to think it was funny. Chris opened up about not attending Joe going away party after Dolores Catania urged him not to go. It seemed as if the group were a little upset to be missing Joe’s going away party.
Before Joe’s going away party, he and Teresa had a quiet moment together and discussed how hard it was going to be with Joe in jail for the next four years. Joe admitted he wanted to get it over with and reflected on how much he will change in prison.
At Joe’s going away party, Teresa, and Joe were surrounded by their closest family and friends. The couple rode a mechanical bull together and had a good time catching up with their family and friends, even though there was an air of sadness at the party.
The following morning, Joe left for jail. He hugged a crying Teresa and then crawled into a black SUV and headed to prison. Melissa and Joe Gorga, cried as they watched the couple leave, as did Joe and Teresa’s daughter’s who watched from inside the house.
Later on that day, Melissa confided in Joe that she received a text from Teresa after she left saying, “love you.” Melissa explained that she was so happy that they can be there for Teresa.
Meanwhile, Jacqueline, Siggy, and Dolores met up and prepared for Ashlee’s baby shower and chatted about Joe leaving. Not surprisingly, Jacqueline cried over Joe leaving and said her heart broke for Teresa and her daughters.
Dolores then asked Jacqueline if she would be okay seeing Teresa at her housewarming party next week, to which Jacqueline replied that her plan was not to interact with Teresa at all.
Later, Teresa talked to Melissa and Joe about her emotional day then crawled into bed with her three of her four daughters. They are prayed and cried together; hoping for Joe to come home as soon as possible.
Tonight’s episode was a little dull except for the Joe stuff. I bawled my eyes out a lot of the episode because it was just so heartbreaking to see the pain that Joe, Teresa, and their girls were going through. I found it hilarious that all of Jac’s scenes revolved around Teresa. Plus why was Jac planning Ashlee’s shower and why were they shopping for baby stuff if Ashlee just announced her pregnancy? Obviously, Ashlee was much farther along then they made it out to be on the show, which is just dumb.
