During last Sunday’s episode of the Real Housewives of New Jersey, we learned that despite it all Joe Giudice still wanted Chris Laurita and his family at his going away party.
Initially, Chris was gung-ho to go and have one last hurrah with his good friend Joe before Joe headed off to prison. After a conversation with Real Housewife Dolores Catania, Chris had a change of heart.
In a preview of tonight’s episode, Chris explains to Kathy and Richie Wakile and Rosie Pierri why he chose not to go to Joe’s goodbye party.
“I was going to go, but then Dolores told me don’t go,” Chris explains.
If you remember, Joe invited Chris and Jac to the party despite Jac and Teresa’s recent blow out in Vermont. And Jacqueline gave Chris her blessing to go while bowing out of the invite. However Dolores insisted Chris stay home and stand by his wife.
“After everything that happened in Vermont, I knew that if I went to that event, the chances of me walking to that room and somebody saying something stupid, especially about my wife, is going to be a problem,” Chris said.
However, Chris did send Joe a message and said he wishes him the best.
Teresa’s cousin Rosie also didn’t attend the party, despite being super close with Joe saying, “This time I don’t know what to do. It doesn’t matter anymore.”
More importantly, tonight’s episode will be an emotional one as we see Joe, leave his family behind, and head off to prison for four years. Make sure you have your tissues ready.

I’ve always loved Joe and Chris’ friendship. You could always tell how much love there was between them and that they truly enjoyed each other’s company. I wish Chris would have gone to the party because I sure it would have meant the world to Joe. I don’t get why Dolores was so determined for Chris not to go to the party.
Should Chris have gone to Joe’s goodbye party? Why do you think Dolores didn’t want Chris going to Joe’s party? Will you be watching RHONJ tonight?
