With a new season of RHOA around the corner, I guess one could say that no press is bad press?
Recently Kandi Burruss and her husband Todd Tucker were kicked off of a flight on Hawaiian Airlines. Making matters even worse? Kandi is claiming that the couple was kicked off for no reason and was publically humiliated! Speaking out to People.com Kandi dished on the dirty details and why she is owed a serious apology:
“Last night, my husband Todd Tucker and I boarded a Hawaiian Airlines flight headed to Hawaii. After we settled into our seats, we were approached by the gate agent who asked to see our tickets, and we happily obliged,” she says. “However, the baggage claim stickers were stuck to the back of the tickets. The gate agent left without returning them.”
“The plane taxied away from the gate, so I signaled the flight attendant, and I calmly asked for our baggage claim ticket in the event that our bags didn’t make it on to this flight. He left and returned, mentioning the pilot had to check. All of a sudden, everything stopped, and we began to taxi back to the gate. A female gate agent then walked up to Todd and I and informed us that we needed to get off the plane immediately for inciting some sort of commotion.”
Hm…no there’s 3 sides to every story: his, her’s and the truth but this certainly doesn’t paint the airline in the best picture!
Kandi continued: “We were both completely confused – but still calm and respectful given the circumstances. Everybody sitting around us were just as bewildered and shocked as we were, and began offering us business cards to serve as witnesses. At that point, we simply got up and left. I’ve never been more insulted and embarrassed. We still can’t believe it. Whatever the reasons we were asked to leave the plane were, I have no idea.”
It turns out that the error was on the airline’s part as the tickets didn’t register due to a glitch in the airline’s system. To make matters even worse, Hawaiian Airlines didn’t provide a comment when reached out to by People.
This is beyond poor customer treatment. Hawaiin Airlines better be dishing out some free flier miles to Kandi and Todd as this could get ugly.
